Ionia Powerlifting Finishes 3rd at Nationals

The Ionia Powerlifting team took 13 lifters to Appleton Wisconsin to compete at nationals.  The team finished in 3rd place, Vincent Kenyon finished 1st in his weight class and Kayleb Bastien set 4 American powerlifting records.  For a full report on the team and individual accomplishments click on the link or see the attached PDF file below. Girls Soccer Goes into the Break with a 3-0 Win

Tonight’s game was our last action before spring break so we wanted to make sure we went into the break on a positive note. With a final score of 3-0, Ionia achieved that objective. The first half got going quickly as Ionia was awarded a penalty within the first few minutes of the game. Freshman

Ionia wins game one of the season with a walk-off hit by Izick Castillo in the bottom of the 7th.  Final score 3-2 The bulldogs were down 2-1 headed into the 7th inning.  Bryce Phelps led off the inning by getting hit by a pitch. Senior Grant Wiles then followed that with a double.  Another

Boys and Girls Basketball All-County Teams

The Boys and Girls All-County teams were named this past weekend and the Ionia teams were well represented.  For the girls Taylor Kirby was 1st team all-county and Ashlyn May and Mia Bianchi were both named to the second team.  On the boys team Brady Swinehart was named Co-Player of the Year, Alec White, Gage

Wolcott and Velasco March Independent Bank Athletes of the Month

Monica Velasco and Connor Wolcott were named the Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the month for March.  Monica was nominated by her soccer coach Scott Sarka and Connor was nominated by his baseball coach Jason Lundstrom.  Monica is a senior leader on this years girls soccer team, and is a CAAC All-Academic athlete in soccer and cross country.  Connor Wolcott is in
